The name “Fiore” originated from Chef Gabriele Ascione’s grandfather, who shaped his love for Ischian history and food. Ischia, a small island off of Naples, boasts a rich and vibrant local history that is recreated in the cuisine at Fioritaly. Each meal has been carefully selected and refined by Chef Gabriele Ascione, who inspires to showcase the essence of local Italian dishes from home.

The Chef

Hailing from a small island, Ischia, off of mainland Naples, Gabriele Ascione discovered his love for cooking Italian cuisine at the age of 13. Growing up in his family’s farm, he had a deep appreciation for fresh local produce to create traditional southern Italian cuisine.

This led to Gabriele dedicating himself in the kitchen and gaining experience in various restaurants in his native Ischia, including in the Michelin-starred il Melograno Ristorante. After finishing culinary school, he moved to Boston to take over as chef in well-known restaurants in the North End. This drive to share the flavors of his beloved homeland, resulted in the decision with his uncle, Andrea DiiOrio, to create a project together: FiorItaly.
